Salak Pondoh

Salak (Salacca zalacca,syn. S. edulisCalamus zalacca) is a species of palm tree
(family Arecaceae) native to Indonesia.
It is a very short-stemmed palm, with leaves up to 6 m long; each leaf has a 2 m
long spiny petiole and numerous leaflets.

A ripe salak is always creamy yellow colour and has a sweet acid taste like pineapple.
Salak is not juicy which makes them especially convenient to peel and eat.
The taste is usually sweet and acidic, but its apple-like texture can vary from very dry
and crumbly to moist and crunchy.
Recently there is newly innovated clone, the Salak Pondoh  It is sweeter and allows higher yield.
Salak pondoh is an important fruit in Yogyakarta province. In the five years to 1999,
the annual production in Yogyakarta doubled to 28,666 tons.
Its popularity (compared with other cultivars) among local Indonesian
consumers is mainly due to the intensity of its aroma, which can be overripe and sweaty even before full
maturation.
Salak pondoh has three more superior variations, namely pondoh super, pondoh hitam (black pondoh),
and pondoh gading (ivory-English term for gading / yellowish-skinned pondoh).

We Supply Salak Pondoh directly from Farmers of Salak in Yogyakarta.

Coconut Copra

Dried sections of the meat of the coconuts the kernel of the fruit of the coco palm. Copra is valued for the coconut oil extracted from it and for the resulting residue, coconut-oil cake, which is used mostly for livestock feed
Making copra – removing the shell, breaking up, drying – is usually done where the coconut palms grow. Copra can be made by smoke drying, sun drying, or kiln drying. Sun drying requires little more than racks and sufficient sunlight. Halved nuts are drained of water, and left with the meat facing the sky; they can be washed to remove mold creating contaminants
Exposing the kernels to the air and sun was the earliest method of drying and is still extensively followed; it gives a good quality white copra.
We have Grade A, B and C of Coconut Copra. The best quality is Grade A with natural dried . All copra made from dark and brown coconut.

Coconut Fiber

Coconut fiber is obtained from the fibrous husk (mesocarp) of the coconut (Cocos nucifera) from the coconut palm, which belongs to the palm family (Palmae).
Coconut fiber has a high lignin content and thus a low cellulose content, as a result of which it is resilient, strong and highly durable. The remarkable lightness of the fibers is due to the cavities arising from the dried out sieve cells.
Coconut fiber is the only fruit fiber usable in the textile industry. Coir is obtained by retting for up to 10 months in water followed by sun-drying. Once dry, the fiber is graded into "bristle" fiber (combed, approx. 20 - 40 cm long) and "mattress" fiber (random fibers, approx. 2 - 10 cm long)
The best grade fibers are light in color, gold-yellow (fiber from not yet completely ripened nuts) or brown (fiber from ripe nuts).
An excessively high water content within the bales results in self-heating and decay during long voyages. A moisture measurement must therefore be carried out before accepting the consignment and moisture-damaged bales must be rejected.
Coconut fiber is used to produce hawsers, ropes, cords, runners, mats, brooms, brushes, paint brushes and as stuffing for mattresses and upholstered furniture.
